Empowering survivors through the power of Brisbane website design services
Challenge DV approached us for our website design expertise after noting some flaws in their current website. As a not-for-profit working in the domestic violence support space, they knew how important it was to have a website that could be accessed safely and quickly, which their original site was currently lacking.
Some of the key features they requested during our first meeting with them included:
A mobile-friendly, responsive design
A self-manageable website that the team could update, especially with resources and materials
A 5-star after-sales support funnel
Testimonial and blog integration
MailChimp automation setup, which was linked to the online quoting system
A quick exit button that would provide safety to those using it, in the event of an emergency
Above these features, we also focused on highlighting their branding more through the website, using colours, text and buttons that would allow men and women in critical situations to feel safe.
A major factor contributing to the safe feeling of the website was ensuring that text was spaced evenly and that the website wasn't too text-heavy. This way, those in need could access information without spending excess time online. These elements were especially important for those who needed to seek support quickly.
Upon seeing their finalised website, the team were ecstatic. Despite the volume of new design elements, we were able to deliver a responsive and quick website design that could help those significantly in a moment of need.
So, what did the client think? Katrina Swanston, the Chief Communications and Partnerships Officer from Challenge DV commented:
"When Challenge DV needed a new website, we called on the very talented Amanda Harbrow of Harbrow Creations, who came highly recommended.
She quickly understood the brief and created a beautiful website for us, in record speed, that has transformed the way we communicate with our partners, customers and the public.
Not only that, she was a dream to work with - super lovely, patient and accommodating to last-minute requests. Thank you so much, Amanda!”
Working on this project not only allowed us to help a business in need, but it has gave us the chance to make a difference for those experiencing domestic violence. We know that this website build will have positive impacts in the long term.
